Dilution Ratios
From mold and mildew elimination to disinfection of bacteria and viruses on surfaces and fabrics, Vital Oxide is a disinfectant solution that can handle a long list of duties in both household and industrial settings. Vital Oxide disinfectant is ready to use but can also be diluted down for some specific applications.
Full Strength
Vital Oxide disinfectant solution comes ready to use as a full-strength Health Canada authorized and EPA approved hospital disinfectant for non-porous surfaces. For a majority of disinfectant applications, Vital Oxide full-strength is recommended. Full strength should also be used in environments with high rates of bacteria, mold, and mildew and in high traffic areas and touch points.
5:1 Carpet and Rug Sanitzer
To Sanitize and Deodorize Carpets and Rugs:
- Mix 5-parts water to 1-part Vital Oxide.
- Spray onto the surface from a distance of 6-8 inches.
- Work the product down to the carpet pad (a brush may be used)
- Allow enough ventilation to air dry.
- Repeat the process as needed.
First test for color fastness in an inconspicuous space. Do not use on wool fabrics.
9:1 Food-Contact & Daily Surface Sanitzer
To Sanitize Food-Contact Surfaces:
- Mix 9-parts water to 1-part Vital Oxide.
- Spray onto the surface from a distance of 6-8 inches, wetting thoroughly.
- Let stand for 1 minute (or longer if specified by government sanitary code).
- Allow the surface to drain or air dry. Do not rinse or wipe.
To Sanitize Non-Food-Contact, Non-Porous Surfaces:
- Mix 9-parts water to 1-part Vital Oxide.
- Spray onto the surface from a distance of 6-8 inches, wetting thoroughly.
- Let stand 5 minutes.
- Wipe and allow to air dry. No rinse required.
Disinfectant Cleaner
To disinfect non-porous surfaces
To fully disinfect pre-cleaned, hard, non-porous surfaces, apply Vital Oxide full-strength (undiluted) directly to the area. Allow surfaces to remain wet for 10 minutes for virus inactivation and bacterial disinfection. For immersion, replace solution daily or more frequently if it becomes significantly soiled.
Fungicide, Mold & Mildew Killer
To kill fungus on hard, non-porous surfaces
To kill fungus, first remove visible surface dirt by cleaning the area. Next, apply Vital Oxide disinfectant to the surface until thoroughly wet. The surface must be completely wet with Vital Oxide for 10 minutes. If needed, you can re-apply the product when cleaning next or when new growth appears.
To kill and prevent mold and mildew
To kill mold or mildew, Vital Oxide must come directly in contact with the mold or mildew area to be effective.
- To achieve long-lasting results, remove as much visible surface dirt, grime, mold, or mildew as possible by cleaning.
- Next, spray Vital Oxide disinfectant onto the surface from a distance of 12 inches until visibly wet.
- The surface must be completely wet with the product for 10 minutes.
- Allow ventilation to air dry.
